Production Manager for the mechanical part of the production

Your role
With reference to the Operation Director, your will be responsible for managing the mechanical part of the production consisting of blacksmiths and unskilled workers. Together with 3 other production managers you will be part of the operations management team - the exact distribution of the department you will lead depends on your skills and your background.

As a production manager, you will ensure motivation and commitment, be visible and take the lead, coordinate staffing and contribute to optimising production according to defined quality standards and delivery times. As a manager, you help to ensure a high level of satisfaction among employees and continuous development of the competence level, so that employees and the department are geared to perform at the highest level.

Main tasks

  • Lead and motivate the mechanical part of the production
  • Partly run and participate in management meetings, department meetings and production meetings
  • Make continues improvement in mechanical assembly to reduce rework and lead time
  • Ensure education and training of staff
  • Attract, hire and retain staff
  • Employee development interviews
  • Manage staffing and overtime planning
  • Ensure constant value creation among employees

Your background
You have a technical and craftsmanship background ideally supported by experience form a similar position. Preferably you have leadership experience from the production industry, where you have achieved solid results measured in terms of employee satisfaction. You have empathy, natural assertiveness, and a professional approach, and you are able to build good working relationships. Furthermore, you are a strong and visible leader, who is not afraid to take the lead.

You are good at handling several tasks at once, without losing focus on safety and quality, while still being able to make sure the team meet its deadlines. Therefore, a proactive approach and a sense of urgency is important

As a person you are structured and have a good understanding of processes. You are independent with a high drive, and you are attentive and know how to motivate and engage your team with a goal-oriented approach. You are used to work with the MS Office package, and finally you communicate clearly, precisely, and persistently.  

As our corporate language is English, you should be able to both communicate orally and in writing in English.
