Mechanical Engineer Manager to develop new mould solutions

Core Responsibilities
As Mechanical Engineer Manager you will transfer your expertise between the design and engineering organization and ensuring the right level of design for manufacturing within LEGO Moulding Technology. Your key responsibility is to ensure the right technical solution. If there is a need to research and develop new technologies, you have a focus on our platform.

You use your high functional expertise and actively take the technical responsibility and drive project.

  • Understand current production platforms, the future roadmaps and customer needs
  • Challenge and integrate the above into mould solutions together with colleagues
  • Be curious about new materials, moulds/moulding process
  • Engaging with colleagues – challenge and spare about the technical solutions
  • Evaluate daily planning
  • Ownership on conclusions/recommendations
  • Ongoing development of our working processes and standards

Play your part in our team succeeding
We work closely with the element developers to get the best possible start for new LEGO® moulds. In this cooperation we focus on design for manufacturing and prototypes of various kinds, Cast or 3D printed, CAE, etc.

One of our deliverables is a mold design draft, which is a description of the mold layout, inlet and cooling conditions, etc. Our focus is thus the whole process from element design until the mold is ready to be used for production.

We secure frame setting with our collaborators across the company to manage complexity.  Our team of 12 employees succeed together, and we value an informal and trusting work environment.

Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate has a background as a Mould Designer or Tool Maker with 5 years of experience. Furthermore, we expect that you have:

  • High experience in tool construction, toolmaking and
  • Experience with task or project management
  • High knowledge of injection moulding
  • Experience with design in 3D CAD system

You must have strong collaboration and communication skills, a curious R&D approach and love to challenge the status quo.
