Within our Consulting division, we deliver high-quality software professionals and drive innovation for our clients. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Department Manager to lead, oversee, and build our software department for our consulting division.
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Software Department Manager. In this role, you will manage and lead a team of software professionals, drive the successful delivery of software projects, build competencies, and ensure the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and provide expert guidance and recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of software engineers and developers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and the sales team to understand business requirements and provide innovative software solutions.
- Build competencies within the software department by identifying skill gaps and designing training programs to enhance technical expertise.
- Proactively identify and attract top talent to join the team, ensuring the right people are available to deliver exceptional results for our customers.
- Ensure the timely delivery of software projects, meeting client expectations and project deadlines.
- Implement and enforce software development best practices and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in software development methodologies and technologies.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues related to software development projects.
- Collaborate with other department managers and stakeholders to align software development efforts with company goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in managing software development teams in a consulting or professional service environment.
- Strong technical background in software development with expertise in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale software projects on time and within budget.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Experience from comprehensive tender material preparations would be considered an advantage
- Ability to build competencies within the team and attract top talent.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
