Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position
As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be part of FuelTechs Mechanical Engineering team, with focus on Calculating both high- and low-pressure equipment for the maritime industry.
You will be working with relevant codes and rules for specification, designing and calculating pressurized systems.
Your primary work areas could be:
- Contribute to knowledge regarding pressurized equipment, process piping, FEA and Thermodynamics.
- Structural design and calculation according to relevant codes and rules.
- Assisting in the concept phase of new products from an engineering perspective.
- Cross-disciplinary work with R&D, Operations, sales, and service.
- Setting up prototypes and/or calculations subject to tests.
Examples of tasks could be:
- Calculate and optimize a Fuel Valve Train systems piping and find the most efficient path for the piping, to reduce pressure loss, while maintaining a low pipe stress.
- Develop methods in FEA to calculate according to ASME BPVC VIII Division 2
- Calculate temperature drop across components.
The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager of FuelTech, and you will have your own office space at our headquarters in Hedensted.
Your everyday work will vary with tasks and projects of different nature and sizes. You will be part of a professional, strong, and committed team with high moral, who is always ready with a helping hand whenever needed.
Professional qualifications
You have a minimum of 5 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer or of equivalent relevant education.
You are fluent in spoken and written English.
Possess good IT skills, and in addition, have a good mechanical understanding.
You have experience in calculating process piping and pressure vessels according to ASME or equivalent EN standard.
Preferably you also have understanding of FEA and can calculate according to code.
Personal qualifications
You are structured and good at maintaining the big overview. You have an analytical mindset and able to analyse issues.
