II.1.4) Short description:

Instrument: Cryogen-free superconducting magnet system for low-temperature and high-field Mössbauer spectroscopy studies at DTU Physics.

The instrument has to:

— be based on a ‘dry’ superconducting magnet system i.e., a system that is cooled without the use of liquid helium,

— be able to provide adjustable sample fields of up to 5 Tesla (or more) and sample temperatures (within +/- 1 Kelvin) from room temperature down to 5 Kelvin,

— be essentially free of vibrations to the sample (the line-broadening from the magnetic system, including the cooling, has to be less than 0.02 mm/second),

— have a design that matches the design of existing Mössbauer spectroscopy equipment at DTU.

II.1.6) Information about lots
This contract is divided into lots: no
II.1.7) Total value of the procurement (excluding VAT)
Value excluding VAT: 1 951 952.00 DKK
II.2) Description
II.2.1) Title:
II.2.2) Additional CPV code(s)
II.2.3) Place of performance
NUTS code: DK
Main site or place of performance:

Denmarks Technical University

Anker Egelundsvej 1

2800 Kongens Lyngby.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

The design must match the design of existing Mössbauer spectroscopy equipment at DTU.

This includes that the instrument provides a horizontal magnetic field, and allows for two horizontal transmission axes — one where the gamma-ray from the existing Mössbauer spectrometers is perpendicular to the magnetic field, and one where the gamma-ray is parallel to the magnetic field. The Mössbauer sources have to be operated at room–temperature, and the magnetic field at the source has to be essentially ‘null’ (less than 600 and 100 Gauss at the 2 ports).

The provider has to:

be able to show reference of previously sold instrumentation that fulfills the instrument requirements,

be able to deliver and bring the instrument to flawless operation on-site within a limited time period due to funding constraints.

II.2.5) Award criteria
Quality criterion - Name: Quality / Weighting: 100
Price - Weighting: 0
II.2.11) Information about options

II.2.13) Information about European Union funds
The procurement is related to a project and/or programme financed by European Union funds: no
II.2.14) Additional information

In order to find the best provider of this instrument, we have contacted relevant potential suppliers and asked if they meet the specified requirements. Only Cryo Industries of America Inc has expressed that they are able to fulfill the specified requirements.
